WELCOME TO THE MONADNOCK SUMMER LYCEUM

Inform. Engage. Inspire.

A free summer speaker series held Sundays in July and August in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

Now in its 57th season, the Monadnock Summer Lyceum brings people together each summer to listen, learn, and share in the exchange of ideas. The 2026 season runs July 5 through August 23, with programs held on Sunday mornings at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church. Each program begins with music, followed by a featured speaker and a light reception afterward.

We are pleased to share the full 2026 program below and look forward to welcoming returning friends, new visitors, and all who are curious about the ideas, stories, and voices shaping our wider world. If you have suggestions for future speakers or topics, we welcome hearing from you. You may also use the contact form on this website to request a printed brochure, or subscribe below to receive occasional email updates.

With Gratitude

The Monadnock Summer Lyceum is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors, community partners, and individual donors. Their support helps keep this long-standing summer tradition free and open to all.

We are especially grateful to Microspec Corporation, our 2026 Season Sponsor, and to our speaker sponsors Belletetes Inc., Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough International Affairs Forum, RBC Wealth Management, RiverMead, Runyon Law Office, PLLC, The Putnam Foundation, and Waterhouse Restaurant, along with many generous individual supporters throughout the Monadnock region.

We look forward to welcoming you back this summer—in the pews or online!
